JOËLLE ASUKA SCHMIDT
A collaboration project with Carly Lave, a dancer and choreographer from San Francisco, and the Virtual Design program at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences.
The innovative VR dance performance was presented from July 25–27, 2019 at the Uferstudios in Berlin. The dance performance was tracked using motion capture technology and transferred live into a prepared VR environment.
A team of seven students was responsible for designing and implementing the VR experience. My contributions focused on technical aspects, including the implementation of mirrors, additional shadow and lighting setups, as well as animated shaders and particle systems for the virtual environment.
