JOËLLE ASUKA SCHMIDT
The theoretical part of my bachelor's thesis explored how humans perceive music. The research focused on questions such as "What is music?" and "How does music influence individuals and society?"
Based on this research, I designed and developed the practical part of the thesis: an audiovisual virtual reality experience aimed at creating a new way of experiencing music.
The project leveraged the unique possibilities of VR technology, including hand tracking for immersive interaction and 360° spatial audio. Across three distinct virtual environments, I created different audiovisual experiences, each with its own atmosphere and soundscape.
This was a solo project, and I was responsible for every aspect of its development, including concept design, programming, sound design, 3D modeling, and visual design.
